"Usage Metrics": Token usage, response times, and model performance data
"Anonymous User ID": A randomly generated identifier stored in your browser to track usage patterns (not linked to any personal information)

Please note that we do not collect or analyse any of the uploaded files that you use for building networks or adding additional information to the network.

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

We use the Device Information that we collect to help improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our users browse and interact with the Site). We typically use the feedback ratings to improve our services.

We use the Chat Interaction data to:

Monitor and improve the quality and accuracy of AI-generated responses
Analyze usage patterns to enhance the user experience
Debug technical issues and optimize performance
Calculate operational costs and resource usage
Train and fine-tune AI models (only in aggregated, anonymized form)

All chat interactions are processed in production environments only and are stored securely with industry-standard encryption.

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. For example:

We use Langfuse (a third-party service) for LLM observability and tracing in production environments. Chat interactions are transmitted to Langfuse servers for analysis and monitoring purposes. Langfuse adheres to strict data protection standards and processes data in accordance with GDPR and other applicable privacy regulations. Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

AI Chat Assistant and LLM Services

Our site includes an AI-powered chat assistant feature. When you use this feature:

Third-Party AI Providers: Your questions are sent to third-party AI service providers (OpenAI, NVIDIA) to generate responses. These providers have their own privacy policies and data handling practices.
No Personal Health Information: Please do not share personal health information, patient data, or any sensitive identifiable information through the chat assistant.
Research and Educational Use: The AI assistant is designed for research and educational purposes related to bioinformatics and should not be used for clinical decision-making.
Conversation Privacy: Each chat session is identified by a unique session ID. Conversations are not shared with other users.
Production Only: LLM interaction tracking is only active in production environments. Development and testing environments do not send data to third-party services.
